We are pleased to announce the winners of the art competition “The Hermitage Cats. Cultured Isolation” and offer them our heartiest congratulations.
It was very hard for us to make a choice, as it is every year: so many beautiful works were created for entry into the competition. Although this year staff and visitors are unable to admire all the pictures on display in the cellar “Where the cats live”, we are delighted that we are still together and that you continue to love the Hermitage cats, who are boundlessly grateful for that and also send you their love.
This year our competition covered an even greater area. We have been sent works from Finland, Estonia, France, Italy, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as many parts of Russia. This year for the first time, we also had older participants: from students to senior citizens.
All the entrants will receive a certificate, while the winners will get a diploma and souvenir gifts (including a protective face-mask of the kind distributed to the Hermitage staff, as a symbol of this year) as soon as the museum begins receiving visitors again.
