On 21 May 2019, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam paid a visit to the State Hermitage.
His party was greeted on the Council Staircase by Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage.
The Prime Minister viewed the museum’s state rooms and permanent displays. An important part of the programme was a visit to the newly-opened exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam”. Nguyễn Xuân Phúc was acquainted with the display by Nguyễn Văn Hà, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Museum of History. Mikhail Piotrovsky introduced the guests to the exhibition’s curators on the part of the Hermitage – Natalia Sutiagina and Yevgeny Kii.
The Prime Minister left a review of the exhibition and signed the Hermitage’s book of distinguished guests.
