On 6 April 2018 a supplement was signed in the Hermitage to the Memorandum of Intention between the State Hermitage and the Spanish company Cultural Development Barcelona, S.L.
The supplement confirms agreements reached previously, extends the term of the Memorandum until 30 September 2020 and modifies individual points in the Memorandum.
The agreement was signed by Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage; Svetlana Adaksina, Deputy General Director of the State Hermitage; Eugenio Pallares Just, Chairman of the Board of Cultural Development Barcelona; and Valery Yarovslavsky, a member of the board of Cultural Development Barcelona.
The Memorandum between Russia, Spain and Catalonia including the creation of the Hermitage–Barcelona museum centre project was originally signed on 12 April 2013.
The parties plan in the near future to go on to sign a preliminary agreement developing the points in the Memorandum.
