Presentation of Sakura Branches to the Hermitage

This unusual occasion was organized jointly with Itsumo, the Association to Promote Collaboration with Japan. Accepting the gift, Svetlana Borisovna Adaksina, Chief Curator of the Hermitage, noted that such an event was taking place in the museum for the first time: “It is not an exhibition, not a conference, it is a very touching gift that is associated with the rebirth of nature after winter." The branches will be displayed in the halls of the museum so that visitors to the Hermitage can enjoy the blossoming sakura.
