This hall is devoted to art of the Early Renaissance. The two wings from a folding three-part altarpiece depicting St Jerome and St Dominic are the work of the famous Florentine painter Sandro Botticelli (1445–1510). The masterpieces of his outstanding pupil Filippino Lippi (1457–1504) include the Adoration of the Christ Child.
The Florentine artist Jacopo del Sellaio (1442–1493), who came under the influence of Botticelli, is represented by several works. St Sebastian is a typical work by the major Umbrian artist Pietro Perugino (circa 1450–1523).
