This small yet massive gun with a wheel lock was used for hunting and its decoration indicates that the owner was a man of high rank. The gun was produced by two masters, each applying his great experience and talent to the decoration. Sadeler covered the barrel, lock and mount with blued relief pattern, while Borstoffer made the stock of light horn, ebony and rosewood, creating an amazingly beautiful composition. The tiny relief depicts the mythical singer Orpheus and animals.
